9th Grade After-School Program

Boys that were not selected to participate on the school's JV boys basketball team are invited to be a part of the Butler Basketball School (BBS) program. Depending on the number of interested students, a tryout for the BBS program is sometimes also held.

After-school, 3x a week, students participate in a 1-hour study hall and tutoring session before then participating in a 1-hour rigorous basketball practice. Study hall and tutoring sessions are occasionally substituted for a life skills workshop or guest speaker.

Competitive games for program participants are scheduled against freshman teams of 9th grade private schools, and participation in local community leagues.

Students are evaluated periodically throughout the program for improved success in the areas of academics, life skills advancement, and financial literacy concepts and principles.

After-School Dance & Cheerleading Program

Individuals that enjoy the art of dance, and the sport of cheerleading, are welcome to participate in this after-school program.

For 1-hour after school, students participate in a 1-hour financial literacy workshop. In the workshop, students learn important foundational concepts about money as well as basic investing principles. Each participant receives a Rich Kid Camp online account and is monitored throughout the program for their comprehension, progress, and implementation of the content. Upon completing the 1-hour financial literacy session, which is often followed by a discussion to reiterate the learned concepts, participants then proceed to an outdoor area for dance and cheerleading activities.
